The track jacket is a recognisable Fred Perry classic and one of our most enduring items, and it is an important part of our legacy. The track jacket was popularised in British subculture during the Britpop period, when bright colours and man-made fibres were first used to team uniforms. It has never lost its impish appeal since. Our taped jacket is made from the same cotton/polyester tricot as the original and features signature design embellishments. The white coil zip and Laurel Wreath track tape were formerly symbols of the 1970s’ cash-strapped era, when branding had to be generic to all colours.
